Miss Pole Dance New Zealand
MPDNZ 2011
Semi Pro Finalists
Julia Hope - Dunedin
"I have been pole dancing on and off for 2 years now. I began with having one lesson a week and within the last year have been practicing several times a week. I have also been teaching beginner classes here and there for a while now which I really enjoy. I haven’t had any formal dance training prior to beginning pole, so a lot of this is new to me. Miss Pole Dance NZ will be the first competition I have competed in, in front of a live audience!"
Maree Prebensen - Wellington
"I started pole classes after I saw a pole dancing competition in Wellington. I was absolutely amazed by the strength and agility of the dancers and have been captivated by pole dancing ever since, with it's unique mix of fitness, creativity and edginess.
During the two years I have been dancing I have been inspired bu many talented dancers and teachers, both nationally and internationally, who have taken pole dancing to new levels of physical prowess and artistic beauty."
Shiona Marie - Auckland
"I started pole classes in 2008 and it has since become
a great passion of mine. I love dancing and am very excited
to be competing in Miss Pole Dance NZ 2011!"
Valerie Dance - Dunedin
"I have tried other forms of dance in the past,
but so far, nothing as exciting as pole dancing.
I only started pole dancing one year ago,
but haven't stopped since!"
Ryoko - Auckland
"I have been dancing for over 2 years now. I'm totally in love with pole dancing, I think it is the best way to get fit and have a good time. Not only do I get fit but I also meet wonderful people through pole dancing. Pole dancing plays a major role in my life and I am so excited to be part of this competition!"
Amanda McCrae - Dunedin
"I have been pole dancing on and off for 3years
Proud to be one of Bonnie's first students. With a very busy "horse" and family schedule, I don't get to the pole as much as I'd like,
but I've told the hubby that when we get a bigger house,
one room will be turned into a pole room!.."
Ava Avolonté - Dunedin
"I have been pole dancing for one and a half years
at V.A.D in Dunedin.
I am excited to be involved with this national level competition,
because I am keen to show people that pole fitness is a legitimate sport, pole is empowering."
Michelle Marquet - Christchurch
"I've been pole dancing since April 2009. When I'm not up the pole, I'm a full time university student, although I've just graduated - which I'm still trying to get my head around... Undoubtedly, I'm looking forward to
starting 2011 with MPDNZ!"
